What to Expect.

  • Step 1

    Pre-Interview Skills

    The first step in the interview process at The Squad is to have applicants complete a skills-based test. This is to ensure compatibility on a practical level before engaging in any interview conversations.

    Who is this for?

    Our Squad Leads (i.e. managers) are responsible for sending a skills test to any candidate they think might be an excellent fit for The Squad. Completing a skills test does not guarantee an interview.

  • Step 2

    Interview Rounds

    Select applicants who have successfully completed a skills test will be contacted by a Squad Lead to begin the interview rounds. Each interview round consists of four interviews:

    • Direct Hiring Manager
    • VP or Director
    • VP of Central Services or COO
    • Michael Tuszynski (CEO)

    Who is this for?

    When we begin the hiring process at The Squad, we will interview three applicants at the same time.

  • Step 3

    One-Pager Meeting

    After all the interviews have been completed, each interviewer will complete a “OnePager.” This is a one-page document that addresses the following questions:

    • What do I love about this candidate?

    • What concerns me about this candidate?

    • What don’t I know about this candidate?

  • Each One-Pager is shared with all interviewers with the intention of creating a more complete picture of the candidate and whether or not they would be a great addition to The Squad. Going out of that meeting, the following next steps will happen:

    • An offer will be sent to a candidate

    • The second candidate has also been identified as someone who would be a great fit and permission will be asked to consider them during the next hiring round, OR,

    • The second candidate has not been identified as a great fit, and we will formally conclude the hiring process with them.

  • Step 4

    Once the offer has been accepted, the new Squad Member will be put in contact with the following people who will begin the onboarding process:

    • Michael Tuszynski: Founder and CEO of Church Media Squad

    • Squad Success Lead

    • Project Management Squad Lead

    • The new Squad Member’s direct manager

WHAT IS A BAR RAISER?
A bar raiser is someone who is a value-add to the existing Squad environment. Simply put, you make the whole company better in real, measurable ways just by you being there.

We define the ideal team player based on the definition from Patrick Lencioni. An ideal team player is:

Humble

Quick to point out the contributions of others and slow to seek attention. Defines success collectively rather than individually.

Self-motivated and diligent. Constantly thinking about the next step and the next opportunity.

Interpersonally appropriate and aware. Good judgment and intuition around group and interpersonal dynamics and understands the impact of words and actions.
